The leading low-cost gas station company, Plenoil, opens 12 gas stations in December and reaches 224 units. This has been the anticipated year-end closure for the company, thus reaching 224 supply units throughout the Spanish territory.
The company started December by opening the third gas station in the municipality of Leganés and the first in the Balearic Islands, specifically in the municipality of Sa Pobla. The same happened with the supply unit in Sant Joan d’Alacant, which would be the first of the five stations that the company has added to the Valencian Community: Valencia II, Castellón de la Plana I, Aldaia, and Guardamar del Segura. This way, it already has 54 units throughout this area, one of the most populated by the company.
The Andalusian community has also added two new openings this past December, both located in the province of Seville: Gines and La Rinconada. Three more openings were registered this past December: the first supply unit in Fontellas, Navarra, and the second in Madridejos and Vilanova de Arousa.
The increase in fuel prices due to the war in Ukraine and the current socioeconomic situation lead citizens to focus on getting the best market price, the main reason they turn to Plenoil supply units.
According to the study “Fuel Consumption Habits in Spain,” 61.04% of drivers in Spain usually refuel at low-cost gas stations; of those, half (30.30%) have recently started doing so in order to get the lowest possible price.
