The network of automatic gas stations is on track to achieve the annual record of openings for a fuel distribution company: with the 44 opened so far in 2023, it expects to add another 26 new stations by the end of the year. ● The company has opened ten new stations in the last two months and already has a presence in 14 autonomous communities, with a greater weight in Andalusia, Valencia, Madrid, and Galicia. ● Similarly, the company continues to work on installing recharging points for electric cars at its stations, with over 150 projects in progress at this time. ● Recently incorporated into CEOE, Plenoil expects to start its first project in Portugal in the coming months. Madrid, October 11, 2023. Plenoil, a leading company in the automatic service station sector, continues its strong expansion in Spain and has just reached 200 operational gas stations. The Spanish company achieves this milestone after opening ten new service stations in the last two months, specifically, four in Valencia, two in the Canary Islands, two in Castilla-La Mancha, and two in Andalusia. With these figures, Plenoil is on track to achieve the annual record of openings for a fuel distribution company.
So far this year, the company has opened 44 new points and expects to add another 26 new stations by the end of the year, so the forecasts are to reach 70 new service stations in 2023. In this way, Plenoil would have a total of 226 establishments throughout the country. Station number 200 is located in the municipality of Vinaroz, in Castellón, and is already open to the public with 24-hour service. It has automatic dispensers, state-of-the-art surveillance and security systems, and employees on-site during daylight hours to assist customers. On the other hand, the one in Madridejos (Toledo) has been the penultimate opening and involves three novelties: it is the first Plenoil station adapted for trucks, the first located on the highway – the A4 – and the first to have AdBlue supply, an additive to help reduce emissions from diesel vehicles. José Rodríguez de Arellano, CEO of Plenoil, points out that “this 200th opening is a very important milestone for us. The strong growth of the company responds to the recurrent demand of Spanish drivers to acquire fuel at the best possible price. That’s why, from Plenoil, we continue to explore other locations to get closer to citizens and offer them an essential product for current mobility.” With these new openings, Plenoil already has a presence in fourteen autonomous communities. The region with the most presence is Andalusia, with 50 gas stations, followed by Valencia (47), Madrid (34), and Galicia (20). Furthermore, the company’s forecast is to add 26 more gas stations by the end of the year, to close with 226. Thus, a total of 70 gas stations will have been opened in 2023 alone. Achieving this milestone would make Plenoil the distribution company with the most new construction openings in Spain in a single year. With over 600 employees, this year Plenoil expects to invoice around 1.2 billion euros (excluding VAT) and estimates reaching 1 billion liters sold. Additionally, it expects to reach 300 operational gas stations in 2024, always maintaining the most competitive prices in the market and continuing as the leader of automatic gas station networks in Spain. “The good response from drivers to our gas stations has made us reach the sales figure for all of 2022 in September, and we can expect to close 2023 with strong growth,” explains José Rodríguez de Arellano. With an average of 120,000 refuelings per day, in July Plenoil announced its expansion to other countries, such as Portugal, where it already has more than 20 projects submitted.
Advances in energy transition
Plenoil, recently incorporated into CEOE, firmly bets on resource optimization in all its facilities with the aim of reducing its impact on the sector as much as possible while transitioning to a more environmentally friendly energy model. In fact, the company is a pioneer in its sector in the installation of photovoltaic panels, already operational in 82% of its entire network, avoiding the emission of more than 900 tons of CO2 per year. Additionally, 100% of the energy it consumes is considered green, as it is produced from renewable sources. On the other hand, the company continues to work on installing recharging points for electric cars at its stations, with over 150 projects in progress, some of which are already installed and fully operational. The network of automatic gas stations is supplied by the main oil operators in the country, guaranteeing the highest quality of the product offered to consumers. All of its service stations also have an accessible and simple refueling mechanism, as well as on-site assistance during daylight hours and 24-hour surveillance systems that ensure the protection of all customers. The facilities are fully automated and apply the most advanced technologies to guarantee customers maximum safety and comfort during refueling. Additionally, all its stations have free tire inflation machines, and 34 of them also have Plenoil-Wash car washes.
